About this job
Our company is looking for a CDL-A driver to deliver food products in the Hammond, LA area. You'll handle pre- and post-trip checks, loading and unloading, and customer-facing deliveries while keeping accurate paperwork.
What you'll haul
- Food products, delivered in varying traffic and weather conditions
Responsibilities
- Complete pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Confirm correct products are loaded before each run
- Fill out delivery paperwork and handle invoices, checks or cash as needed
- Load and unload goods at customer sites
- Keep up with DOT and company safety certification requirements
- Build knowledge of products, inventory practices and procedures
- Deliver strong customer service
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving history
- At least 1 year of commercial driving experience
- Current, non-expired interstate medical card
- Ability to lift, push or pull up to 100 pounds regularly
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, and sit for extended periods
- Clear English communication for job and safety needs
- Basic math skills
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
