CDL-A Dedicated Store Driver — Home Weekly, $1,700–$2,000/wk

Run dedicated round trips for one retail account out of Irvington, NJ, with trips into New York City. New CDL-A holders are welcome and get paid training. You're home every week.

Pay

• Earn $0.85 to $0.90 per mile

• Drive about 2,100 miles a week

• Get an extra $75 for each delivery made inside the five boroughs

• Typical weekly earnings run $1,700 to $2,000

• Trainees earn $850 a week during the mentor phase

• Paid out weekly

What you'll haul

You're assigned to one retail customer's freight. Routes start at the distribution center, run deliveries to stores in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut, and bring you back home. Every trip is a there-and-back, and dispatch tries to route you through home as often as it can.

Schedule and conditions

• Expect city driving in both New York and New Jersey

• Shifts can fall during the day or at night

• This account runs on weekends and holidays

Getting started

• A recruiter will call to go over your license and driving history

• You'll attend orientation

• Next comes 3 to 5 weeks (200-250 hours) riding with a mentor, paid at $850 a week

• After that, you run your own dedicated routes solo

To qualify, you just need a CDL-A school certificate showing at least 120 hours of training.

Requirements

• Graduated from a CDL-A truck driving school with at least 120 hours of instruction

• Hold a Class A CDL issued by your home state

• Be at least 21 years old

• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years, and no DUI or DWI in the last 10 years

• Able to pass a DOT physical and drug test
