Box Truck Driver — $25.00-$30.00/hr

Our company in Queens, NY is looking for a Box Truck Driver to handle freight deliveries on local, regional or OTR routes. You'll be trusted to run safe, on-time routes while keeping paperwork and vehicle checks in order.

Pay

• $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

What you'll do

• Drive box trucks (and tractor-trailers, depending on assignment) on local, regional or over-the-road routes

• Load and unload freight by hand, making sure everything is secured for the trip

• Follow GPS-guided routes to hit delivery windows

• Handle refrigerated trailers, hazmat, tanker or flatbed loads when assigned

• Run pre-trip and post-trip inspections to confirm the vehicle is safe and compliant

• Load freight with attention to proper weight distribution

• Stay in touch with dispatch to confirm details and give status updates along the route

Requirements

• Valid CDL matching the vehicle you're driving, with a clean driving record

• Solid background in commercial driving, including delivery and route work

• Working knowledge of FMCSA and DOT rules, hazmat regulations and safe loading/unloading practices

• Comfortable driving manual transmission trucks and doing hands-on freight handling

• Experience with reefer, flatbed, tanker or hazardous freight is a plus

• Confident using GPS navigation and familiar with cargo handling procedures

• Able to follow all safety rules for transporting dangerous goods

• Strong, safety-focused driving skills with a customer-service mindset
