About this job
Our company is looking for a Box Truck Driver to handle both over-the-road routes and local deliveries. You will haul freight, including loads that need refrigeration, and keep shipments moving safely and on time.
What you'll do
- Drive box trucks, including refrigerated trailers, on OTR runs and local routes
- Load and unload freight using safe manual handling methods
- Plan and adjust routes using GPS navigation
- Haul hazardous materials and dangerous goods per FMCSA rules when required
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your truck, trailer and cargo for DOT compliance
- Handle freight loading using proper cargo procedures, including flatbed or tanker setups when needed
- Keep accurate logs, delivery paperwork and reports per DOT standards
Requirements
- Valid CDL with a clean driving record
- Previous experience driving commercial trucks, making deliveries, or loading/unloading freight
- Working knowledge of FMCSA safety rules and hazmat handling
- Comfortable driving manual transmission trucks and doing manual freight handling
- Experience using GPS systems for route planning
- Familiarity with freight loading, unloading and cargo logistics
- Solid understanding of DOT rules covering commercial driving and hazardous materials
