AZ/DZ Truck Operator — Vacuum & Tanker Equipment

Our company is hiring an AZ/DZ truck operator for its Stevenage site in Ottawa, ON. You'll run a mix of industrial units rather than a standard tractor-trailer alone.

What you'll haul

• Combination units

• Power vacuum units

• Hydro excavation units

• Box trucks

• Roll-off bin units

• High-pressure water blasters

• Tractor trailers (AZ/DZ)

What you'll do

• Secure cargo and prep equipment following safety rules and applicable regulations

• Run pre-trip, during-trip and post-trip checks on your vehicle and load

• Follow hours-of-service, dangerous goods, customs and weight/dimension rules

• Position trucks for loading and unloading per crew signals

• Keep logs, bills of lading, manifests and other paperwork up to date

• Load and unload freight yourself

• Hand off product and documents to customers

• Flag mechanical issues, accidents or damage to your supervisor

Schedule

• Day shift Monday to Friday, with on-call duty every fourth weekend

• Hours shift seasonally: Monday-Friday from November to April, Tuesday-Saturday from April to October

• Irregular hours and variable shifts should be expected

Requirements

• Valid AZ or DZ license with a clean driver's and CVOR abstract

• Comfortable driving manual transmission (automatics are also available)

• Tanker hauling experience; roll-off bin truck experience is a plus

• Willing to work in confined spaces and/or at heights

• Mechanical aptitude
