About this job
Our company is looking for AZ/DZ licensed drivers to run industrial and waste-handling equipment out of a Gatineau, QC base, covering the Ottawa area. You'll work across a mix of specialized trucks supporting their environmental services operations.

- Tractor trailers
Schedule
Day shift, Monday to Friday, with both manual and automatic trucks in the fleet. Expect on-call rotation one weekend out of every four.
What the job involves
- Loading, securing and unloading cargo according to regulations
- Running pre-trip and en-route checks on your equipment and load
- Staying compliant with hours of service, dangerous goods handling, and safe driving rules
- Spotting and positioning trucks for loading and unloading as needed
- Checking mechanical, safety and emergency systems before each trip
- Flagging defects, damage or incidents on the vehicle right away
- Keeping accurate hours-of-service and maintenance logs
- Filling out logbooks, bills of lading and manifests
- Handling delivery paperwork for loads you move
- Letting your supervisor know about any customer, mechanical or delivery problems
Requirements
- Valid AZ or DZ license
- No issues on your driving record or CVOR abstract
- Willing to work irregular hours and rotating shifts
- Comfortable in confined spaces and working at height
- Some mechanical aptitude
