About this job
Our company is looking for experienced long-haul drivers to move freight between Canada and the USA, with a focus on safe, on-time delivery.
What you'll haul
- Freight transported across the Canada-USA border in commercial vehicles
Home time
- Typically out 3-6 days per trip
- Longer runs of 13-14 days happen roughly every 6-8 weeks
Requirements
- At least 2 years of verifiable AZ driving experience with a clean record and valid CVOR
- Fast card or valid passport for border crossings
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Must comply with the drug and alcohol testing program/Clearinghouse
- Solid understanding of freight handling practices
- Good time management and reliability
- Strong spoken and written English for dealing with coworkers, officials and customers
What you'll do
- Drive commercial vehicles safely across Canada and the US
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Plan your own routes and trips
- Load and unload freight
- Keep accurate electronic logs and delivery schedules
- Stay in touch with dispatch and customers about delivery progress
- Follow all traffic laws and company rules
