About this job
Our company is hiring a yard switcher in Woodbridge, ON for a seasonal role lasting up to 12 weeks. You'll shuttle trailers between the dock doors and the yard, and you may also pitch in with hand-loading, unloading and sorting packages.
What you'll do
- Shuttle trailers to and from loading and unloading doors around the yard
- Possibly load and unload delivery vehicles, trailers and conveyor carts by hand
- Lift, carry, push and pull packages repeatedly during shifts of about two to four hours
- Read labels and scan packages to route them to the right conveyor line
Schedule
Shift runs Friday through Tuesday, 3:00 AM to 8:30 AM. This is a seasonal opening for up to 12 weeks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving history (two or fewer violations or accidents in the past 24 months)
- About six months of experience as a package handler or in switching/CDL work is preferred
- French and English fluency required if you're based in Quebec
