Winter Patroller Driver — $27.80–$29.51/hr

Miller Maintenance, part of Colas Canada, keeps Ontario's highways safe through winter by maintaining provincial roads under Ministry of Transportation contracts. They're hiring a Winter Patroller in Haileybury, ON to handle winter road maintenance and emergency response on provincial highways.

Pay

• $27.80-$29.51/hr

What you'll do

• Patrol and maintain provincial highways during winter conditions

• Respond to accidents, spills and other emergencies in bad weather, including setting up traffic control

• Make calls on snow and ice control measures and request additional equipment or operators as needed

• Inspect patrol routes and report deficiencies to your Foreperson

• Keep accurate records of fuel use, safety checks and hours of service

• Perform routine cleaning and minor repairs on your equipment

• Handle public complaints as they arise

Schedule

• Shifts may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, since winter weather doesn't keep business hours

Requirements

• Valid G license with a clean driving record and CVOR

• DZ license is a plus

• Background in snow and ice control and familiarity with OTM Book 7

• Comfortable working in harsh winter weather

• Knowledge of highway maintenance practices
