About this job
Our company in Caledon, ON is looking for a dependable driver to handle cross-border freight runs between the US and Montreal. You'll be moving freight and equipment on schedule while keeping safety and compliance front and center.
Pay
- $19.25 to $29.28 per hour, full-time
What you'll haul
- Freight and equipment, with occasional use of forklifts or other machinery for loading
Responsibilities
- Drive trucks and vans safely to deliver freight and equipment on time
- Load and unload using forklifts or hand trucks
- Complete pre-trip inspections and keep the vehicle compliant
- Keep accurate delivery paperwork and stay in touch with dispatch
- Help operate heavy equipment such as forklifts when needed
- Handle basic vehicle upkeep and flag mechanical problems early
- Follow traffic laws, safety rules and company procedures
- Help keep the warehouse organized and freight properly stored
Requirements
- Valid CDL with a clean driving record
- Experience with forklifts or other industrial equipment is a plus
- Familiarity with freight handling and safety procedures
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills are a bonus
- Good organizational, documentation and communication skills
