About this job
Our company is growing its winter crew for commercial properties across the GTA, with openings for both Wheel Loader Operators and Salt Truck Drivers. You'll run a set clearing route independently, keep your equipment in good shape, and report in to an account manager throughout the season.
What you'll do
- Run either a front wheel loader with a large hydraulic plow or a salt truck, covering your assigned route in about 8-10 hours round trip
- Shovel and hand-salt entrances and walkways where needed
- Time your plowing and salting with the rest of the crew so sites are covered properly
- Be ready to work whenever snow is forecasted, including weekends and holidays, and get ahead of freezing rain by pre-salting
- Log your hours and material use in the Viaesys app (they'll train you)
- Inspect your equipment before heading out, and clean, wash, and grease it afterward
- Let the account manager know right away about any damage or delays
Pay
- Wheel Loader Operator: $30-$40 per hour based on experience
- Salt Truck Driver: $25-$35 per hour based on experience
- Paid as Standby Pay plus hourly; a flat-rate option is also available
- Overall range posted: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
Requirements
- At least 3 years running a loader in snow plowing, or 3 years in winter operations/plowing/salting for the truck role
- Valid G licence or higher, clean driving record, and your own way to get to the contract site
- Available on call 24/7 for the whole season, including nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays
What's provided
- Equipment, tools, training, and site maps
- Uniforms, though you'll need your own winter boots and jacket
- Paid orientation and training
