Our company in Sacramento, CA is hiring a truck driver to move freight between pickup and delivery points. Assignments can include over-the-road runs, and the equipment you handle depends on the load.
Pay
- $300 to $850 per day.
What you'll do
- Drive tractor-trailers and other commercial trucks on assigned routes and deliveries, using GPS to follow schedules and delivery instructions.
- Load, unload and secure freight by hand where needed.
- Haul general freight and, on some assignments, dangerous goods or hazmat in line with the rules that apply.
- Inspect your truck and cargo, keep the required records, and comply with FMCSA, DOT and hazmat regulations.
Equipment
- Depending on the assignment, you may work with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers or car-hauling equipment.
Requirements
- You can drive a manual transmission and operate the assigned equipment safely.
- You can handle freight manually, including loading and unloading.
- Experience as a truck or delivery driver is preferred.
- Hazmat or dangerous-goods experience is preferred; what is required depends on the cargo and assignment.
