About this job
Our company in Chicago, IL is hiring truck drivers for local delivery and over-the-road routes. You will move freight safely and on time, handling loading and unloading at pickup and delivery points.
Pay
- $3,200.00 - $4,200.00 per week
What you'll do
- Run assigned routes in tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles, including manual-transmission trucks.
- Haul freight on equipment such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds or tankers, depending on the assignment.
- Load, unload and secure cargo using safe handling practices.
- Navigate by GPS, inspect your equipment and report route or delivery issues the way the company requires.
- Comply with DOT and FMCSA rules, including any hazardous materials and dangerous goods requirements that apply.
Requirements
- Commercial driving qualifications that fit the vehicle and cargo you are assigned.
- Ability to handle freight manually and safely.
- A driving record good enough for the company's insurance.
Nice to have
- Experience as a delivery driver or on route driving, in auto transport or in logistics cargo handling.
- Experience with OTR routes, tractor-trailers, reefers, flatbeds or tankers.
