About this job
This is a regional CDL-A driving job on a dedicated retail freight account, running refrigerated trailers out of West Jefferson, OH into Indiana and the Chicago area. You get home 2–3 days a week, and the work is mostly overnight.
Pay
- Average weekly pay is $1,900 (about $96,758 a year); top earners reach $2,550 a week (about $132,036 a year).
- Your pay combines mileage, stop pay and detention pay.
Schedule and home time
- Home 2–3 days per week, with a 34-hour reset.
- The operation runs around the clock with variable shifts and no fixed days off; your workdays depend on freight demand.
- Work is mainly overnight, currently between 9:00 PM and 12:00 PM.
What you'll haul and where
- You start and finish in West Jefferson, OH, with shuttle stops in Whitestown and Demotte, IN.
- Deliveries go to downtown Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
- Trailers come preloaded, tri-temp or dual-temp refrigerated, in 28-foot and 53-foot sizes.
- Trucks are automatic.
- Most stores have you watch the unloading, and inner-city stops need a liftgate and pallet jack.
- Your truck can be parked in a safe, secured location.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with at least 3 months of verifiable experience.
- Clean driving record and a valid DOT medical card.
- SAP drivers are not eligible.
- You can run refrigerated equipment and handle liftgate and pallet-jack deliveries.
- You are fine with overnight work, shifting schedules and regional routes.
