Tow Truck Operator — $65,000–$85,000/Year, Calgary, AB

Our company, serving Alberta since 1963, is looking for a Tow Operator to handle towing and recovery calls in and around Calgary. You'll work directly with customers during stressful situations, so safety and a calm, helpful attitude matter as much as driving skill.

Pay

• $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year

What you'll do

• Safely operate tow trucks to recover and transport vehicles

• Support customers who need assistance, often during difficult moments

• Check and maintain your towing equipment so it stays in good working order

• Keep dispatch and coworkers updated on job progress

• Follow safety rules and procedures on every call

• Handle minor automotive repairs when needed

• Keep accurate E-Log records

• Routes may be local, provincial or inter-provincial, and you could assist emergency crews at accident scenes

Requirements

• Class 5 driver's license with air brake endorsement (required)

• Class 1 license preferred

• About 1 year of towing experience preferred; training is available for the right person

• Background in customer service, ideally in automotive or towing

• Good knowledge of the Calgary area

• Strong communication skills, both spoken and written

• Comfortable keeping records and writing reports

• Clean criminal record check (paid for by the company) and a driver's abstract (paid for by you)

• Must pass a drug, alcohol and fit-to-work screening

• Able to work solo or as part of a team

• Legally able to work in Canada

• Comfortable with physically demanding work outdoors in all weather, including lifting, pushing or pulling up to 100 lbs regularly

• Reliable transportation needed, as the office isn't reachable by public transit
