Our company Highways is offering a fully funded path for entry-level candidates to upgrade their G class license to a DZ license, opening the door to a career in highway maintenance across Ontario. This part-time, entry-level role trains you to become a snowplow operator and may lead to full-time or seasonal work.
Pay
- Hourly wage of $20.00 - $33.50, with your starting rate set according to certification, experience, and work site.
- Workers at remote, site-based locations may also qualify for travel and accommodation allowances.
What you'll do
- Learn to safely operate winter snowplow equipment and support both summer and winter road maintenance.
- Expect shift work, on-call availability, and night shifts in a variety of weather conditions.
- Stay in a work camp and follow a rotational schedule.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- Hold an unrestricted Class 5 license with a clean driving abstract.
- Pass an MTO medical exam and vision test to qualify for an AZ/DZ license.
- Comfortable with physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- Commit to camp-based rotational work and a minimum length of employment.
