About this job
Our company is recruiting Straight Truck Owner Operators in the GTA for its open-board fleet, hauling cross-border loads for an established carrier.
Pay
- $1.50 CAD per loaded mile
- $0.50 CAD per empty mile
- Weekly mileage typically runs 1,400-1,600 miles, though this shifts with how much freight is available
What you'll haul
You'll run open-board, cross-border loads, not a fixed or local route. Freight mainly moves through Ontario, Michigan and the broader U.S. Midwest, Pennsylvania and New York, with other regions added as needed.
Equipment & requirements
- Your own straight truck with barn doors and an ICC bumper (no liftgate), model year 2023 or newer... actually 2023 or older
- A FAST Card is mandatory
- You'll need a valid D license
- Your truck must be dependable and kept in good condition
- A clean safety history and professional approach are expected
Owner operator costs
- Insurance runs 2% of your gross revenue, with a $40/week minimum
- An $1,800 CAD escrow deposit is required
- Qualcomm system costs $35/week
- NAL Fleet Program fee is $125.68/month
- DTOPS transponder fees are spread across four settlement payments
