About this job
The our company is hiring seasonal labourers for Winter Control, operating sidewalk plows to clear and sand sidewalks, walkways and pathways. This role runs through the snow season, with hours building up to a maximum of 40 per week during busy stretches between December 1 and March 31.
Pay
- Hourly wage plus 4% in lieu of vacation and 13% in lieu of all benefits.
Schedule
- Seasonal work, December 1 through March 31.
- Hours peak at up to 40 per week during heavy snow periods.
- You must be available for any or all shifts, including outdoor work in winter weather conditions.
What you'll do
- Drive and operate a sidewalk plow to clear snow and spread sand on sidewalks, walkways and pathways.
Requirements
- High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent.
- At least 1 year driving or operating heavy construction equipment, or working as a labourer around heavy equipment on construction sites.
- Trained in Traffic Control and familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Valid Ontario G driver's licence with a clean driving abstract; a DZ licence is a plus.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, safely and efficiently in all weather.
- May need to show proof of immunity to Tetanus and Hepatitis B.
- Must pass a criminal record check.
