Seasonal Salt Truck Driver — $22.00–$24.00/hr

We're looking for an experienced salt truck driver to handle winter snow and ice control around Trenton, ON. This is a seasonal role with flexible, often overnight hours, including weekends and holidays.

Schedule

• Flexible hours, frequently overnight, with weekend and holiday work expected

• You'll need to be available on call

• Shifts can run during storms and other rough winter weather, including night work

What you'll do

• Drive a salt truck to clear snow and ice from roads, parking lots and other assigned sites

• Spread salt, sand or other de-icing material to improve traction and melt ice

• Keep work sites tidy and avoid any damage to property while clearing snow

• Load the salt truck using a loader

• Answer emergency calls for snow clearing during major storms or harsh conditions

• Stay in contact with dispatch or your supervisor to update them on road conditions, job progress and any problems

• Keep accurate records covering hours worked, materials used and equipment upkeep

• Follow all required health and safety rules while delivering professional service

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience driving a salt truck

• A valid driver's license with a clean driving abstract

• A DZ license

• A cell phone with a data plan
