About this job
Our company needs DZ-licensed (or equivalent) drivers in Emsdale, ON for this winter's highway snow and ice season. You'll run tandem or triaxle plows and combo plow/spreader units on seasonal winter maintenance routes.
Pay
- $29.22 per hour
- Overtime pay available
What you'll do
- Run spreader, wing plow or combo units for winter road upkeep
- Load your own truck (they'll train you on this)
- Handle pre-trip checks and keep accurate logs of fuel use and winter operations
- Operate other heavy equipment like loaders, backhoes and skid steers as needed
- Use hand tools such as steamers and chainsaws when required
- Do basic upkeep and small repairs on your equipment
- Stay in contact with supervisors and crew, and report any incidents or violations right away
Requirements
- Valid DZ license or equivalent, with a clean CVOR
- OTM Book 7 training is a plus, not mandatory
- Prior plowing or highway maintenance experience is a plus
- Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight
- Strong safety mindset and dependable work habits
- Good verbal and written communication
- Physically able to stand, bend, climb, reach and lift up to 50 lbs
Work conditions
- You'll be outdoors in all kinds of weather
- Travel between job sites as assigned
- Shift work with nights and weekends possible
- Regular on-call availability required
