Seasonal DZ Salt Truck Driver — $25–$30/hr, Home Daily

Our company needs a DZ driver in Mississauga, ON to run a salt truck through the winter months, keeping roadways clear and safe. The role is seasonal and on-call, kicking off November 15th, 2026, with hours tied to the weather forecast. You'll sleep in your own bed every night.

Pay

• $25.00–$30.00 per hour, based on your experience and track record

• During stretches without snowfall, you're still covered: either paid hours or a guaranteed $650 every two weeks, as long as you stay ready and available to be called in

Home time

• All work is local, so you're home every day

• Hours swing with the weather, so be ready for calls that come very early in the morning or very late at night

What you'll haul

• You'll operate a salt truck for snow and ice control on the roads

Requirements

• Valid D license with a clean abstract

• A minimum of one year behind the wheel of small or medium trucks

• Your own way to get to the job site, since public transit doesn't reach it

• Flexible schedule, able to take on-call shifts including overnight

• Ready to put in extended hours when storms hit hard

• A mobile phone you can be reached on

• Comfortable working solo or alongside a team

• Good physical condition, capable of lifting 50 lbs or more
