About this job
A family-owned fuel and delivery company in Belleville, ON is hiring DZ drivers for the winter season, running from November through the end of March. You'll deliver propane to homes and businesses on a rotating two-week schedule that includes two weekends per month, working a minimum of 80 hours biweekly.
Schedule
- Week 1: on Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday; off Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
- Week 2: on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; off Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday
- Some evening and weekend work is part of the on-call rotation
- Out-of-town travel may come up occasionally
Pay and bonuses
- Starting rate of $31.15 per hour
- Overtime pay after 44 hours
- Quarterly safety bonuses and a yearly performance bonus
- Fully paid training
- Pay increases as you take on more skills and responsibilities
What you'll haul
- Propane deliveries to residential and commercial customers, plus occasional help with fuel, oil, diesel exhaust fluid, lubricants and related equipment
- Setting up customer skid tanks when needed
What you'll do
- Keep accurate delivery records, logbooks and dangerous goods reports
- Complete required pre-trip circle checks and keep your truck, cab and uniform in good shape
- Report safety, productivity or customer service ideas back to dispatch
- Follow all transportation laws and company safety rules
Requirements
- Valid DZ licence
- At least 3 years of driving experience since certification
- At least 1 year of liquid bulk experience
- Clean driver's abstract and acceptable CVOR
- Mechanically inclined, with a safety-first, professional approach
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds and working outdoors in all weather
- Good knowledge of the local area
- PM3, PM4, PMH, forklift or boom truck experience is a plus, as is fuel hauling or delivery background
- Open to cross-training on different products and equipment
