About this job
This is a seasonal our company Public Works role driving and operating trucks and heavy equipment for snow removal and winter road maintenance. Hours build up to 40 per week during the busy stretch from December 1 to March 31.
Pay and compensation
- Hourly wage plus 4% in lieu of vacation and 13% in lieu of all benefits
Schedule
- Seasonal position, with hours maximizing at 40 per week during the December 1 to March 31 peak period
- You must be willing to work any shift as needed
What you'll do
- Operate, inspect and maintain farm, construction and trucking equipment with a strong focus on safety
- Plow, salt and sand roads during winter control operations
- Handle general Public Works labour duties and equipment
Requirements
- High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent
- At least 2 years driving or operating heavy construction equipment, including 2 full winter seasons of plowing, salting or sanding
- Valid DZ licence with a clean driver's abstract
- Solid understanding of Public Works operations and the equipment used
