About this job
Our company is hiring seasonal couriers in Fort St. John, BC. You will run a pick-up and delivery route in a company van and keep customers happy along the way. The job is temporary, lasting up to 12 weeks depending on business needs, and starts with an interview.
Pay and schedule
- $24 per hour.
- Plan on up to 5 days a week, so you need to be free any day from Monday to Saturday.
- Shifts can vary with business needs.
What you'll do
- Pick up and deliver packages safely on your assigned route while presenting a professional, neat appearance.
- Sort, inspect and load your packages, plan an efficient route and report stop counts and missorts.
- Make sure shipments meet our company service features, are labelled correctly and have accurate paperwork.
- Use computerized tracking and dispatch systems and enter information correctly.
- Answer customer questions about services and Canada, US and international shipping requirements.
- Pass sales leads and market changes on to the sales team.
- Depending on location and workload, you may also load and unload aircraft or containers and sort and scan packages.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- No experience needed; a year of customer service is a plus.
- A valid driver's license (for example Class 5, G or 1 [AZ]).
- No more than two violations and/or accidents on your driving record in the 24 months before you apply.
- Passing the required tests, training and driver assessments, and working comfortably in a PC Windows environment.
- Bilingual in French and English if you live in Quebec.
