About this job
Our company (BTN) in Schomberg, ON needs an AZ-licensed driver to haul plants, racks and supplies between its farms, retailers and vendors. You'll run a straight truck or tractor-trailer, work a liftgate, and keep a busy delivery schedule while representing the company to customers.
Pay
- Hourly wage plus a performance bonus
Schedule
- Contract length: 4 weeks
- Up to 60 hours a week, typically 6 days a week
- Shifts run 8, 10 or 12 hours depending on the day, covering mornings, days, evenings and nights
- Deliveries happen any day, Monday through Sunday, including weekends and holidays
- Work is in person
What you'll haul
- Finished goods and raw materials moving between BTN farms, retailers and vendors
- Mostly metal racks on wheels, sometimes wood racks or pallets, up to 750 pounds, unloaded with a liftgate and pump truck when needed
- You'll break down empty racks and pack them efficiently for the return trip
Requirements
- Valid AZ license
- Clean driver's abstract and current CVOR
- At least 1 year of experience driving a straight truck or tractor-trailer and delivering freight in one
- Able to push and pull racks weighing up to 750 pounds using the right equipment
- Comfortable with frequent bending, stooping and standing for long stretches
- Strong organization, time management and communication skills
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Safety-focused and reliable, with a good attitude
Responsibilities
- Inspect your vehicle before and after trips and handle basic preventative maintenance
- Follow assigned routes and hit delivery windows
- Load and unload freight safely
- Fill out delivery and return paperwork accurately and on time
