About this job
Our company is hiring a part-time Local AZ Driver in Brockville, ON to handle same-day local deliveries on brand new automatic Volvos. The role runs Thursday to Sunday on 10-hour shifts.
Pay
- Up to $25.00 per hour, with regular increases
- Overtime available plus an annual bonus
Schedule
- Part-time, working Thursday through Sunday
- Shifts are 10 hours long
What you'll do
- Run local delivery routes, picking up and dropping off freight on time and per company procedure
- Load, unload and secure cargo to prevent in-transit damage
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to confirm the truck is safe and roadworthy
- Log deliveries, mileage, fuel use and related details using ELDs or paper records
- Stay in contact with dispatch, warehouse staff and teammates to keep schedules on track and resolve issues
- Follow Hours of Service rules, weight limits and other transportation regulations
- Deliver professional, friendly service to customers
- Flag any truck maintenance or repair needs and handle minor upkeep when needed
Requirements
- Valid AZ licence with a clean driving record
- At least one year of AZ driving experience, local delivery experience preferred
- Familiarity with transportation safety rules and regulations
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable using ELDs and similar technology
- Able to lift and move freight, including heavier items
- Good attention to detail and time management
- Able to stay composed under time pressure
- Open to flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed
