Part-Time Class D Hiker Driver — $22-$24/hr

Penske in Ottawa needs a part-time hiker driver to move vehicles between Penske locations and customer sites, with occasional help delivering parts and equipment to the service department. This is an on-call role offering up to 25 hours a week for someone who wants extra income with a flexible schedule.

Pay

• $22-$24 per hour

Schedule

• Monday to Thursday, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with some flexibility

• Part-time/on-call, up to 25 hours weekly depending on business needs

What you'll do

• Drive trucks safely to Penske locations or customer addresses

• Inspect vehicles for mechanical, safety and emergency equipment issues and report problems to the location manager

• Collect signatures or receipts for deliveries, and take payment when needed

• Report any accidents, traffic violations, defects or damage involving the vehicles

• Take on other tasks assigned by your supervisor

Requirements

• At least 2 years of verifiable driving experience

• At least 2 years of a clean driving record

• Valid Class D driver's license with air brake certification

• Able to read, write and follow instructions in English (French also considered)

• Comfortable working independently, with good customer service, organization and a positive attitude

• Reliable, consistent attendance

• Willing to travel, work the set schedule and location, complete a Penske application and go through reference checks (including past employment and education)

• Able to lift up to 25 lbs (12 kg) regularly, 50 lbs (23 kg) often, and 100 lbs (45 kg) occasionally, plus standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing and using your hands throughout the shift (accommodations available for those who qualify)
