About this job
Our company in Lawrenceville, GA is looking for a part-time CDL-A driver who can also handle dock equipment. You will run local pickups and deliveries near the service center and pitch in with loading and unloading trailers, working much like a dock hand when you're not driving.
What you'll do
- Pick up and drop off freight at various points close to the distribution center
- Load and unload trailers using standard dock equipment and procedures
- Expect your exact tasks and hours to shift depending on which service center you're assigned to
Schedule
Hours and days worked depend on the service center location and can include daytime, overnight and weekend shifts. You need to be able to work whatever hours this location requires. Travel involved is minimal.
Pay
You're paid by the hour, with paychecks issued weekly.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience (if you have less, you may still qualify for training)
- Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker and hazmat endorsements, and no automatic transmission restriction
- Minimum age of 21
- A steady, reliable work history
- A clean driving record, checked through your MVR and past employers
- Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug test and meet DOT medical standards
