About this job
Our company is hiring a CDL Class A driver in Macon, GA to run tractor-trailer freight, including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker and hazmat loads, mostly on over-the-road routes. Shift runs Monday through Friday, generally between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Pay
- Starting pay is $32.00 per hour
- A separate posted range shows $23.42–$29.28 per hour, so confirm exact pay with the recruiter
- $1,500 sign-on bonus paid after 30 days on the job
- $1,500 retention bonus paid after 6 months on the job
What you'll haul
- Refrigerated trailers
- Flatbeds
- Tankers
- Hazardous materials freight
What you'll do
- Pick up and deliver freight safely and on schedule
- Load, secure and unload cargo
- Handle delivery paperwork and get proof-of-delivery signatures
- Help out with warehouse tasks between driving assignments
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL for your state
- Clean driving record
- At least 2 years of truck driving experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Forklift experience
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stay on your feet for long stretches
- Good vision and hearing for safe driving
