About this job
Our company is looking for an OTR driver to move freight over long hauls in a tractor-trailer. The exact rig and load depend on the assignment you get, and you're paid on a weekly basis.
Pay
- $500 - $1,000 a week
What you'll haul
- Trailer type varies by run: reefer, flatbed, tanker, dump, or roll-off
- Some assignments include vehicle hauling and hazmat loads where you're cleared to carry them
What the job involves
- Long-haul runs plus occasional local drop-offs
- Checking, loading and strapping down your freight, operating a forklift if you're certified for one
- Running GPS for navigation and logging your trips and deliveries
- Flagging any problems with your route or load right away
Requirements
- Commercial driving background is a plus
- Comfortable handling a manual-transmission tractor-trailer
- A bonus if you've worked reefers, car haulers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-offs, or forklifts before
- You'll need the proper license and safety credentials for whatever vehicle and freight you're assigned, including hazmat certification when that applies
