About this job
Our company is looking for a flatbed driver to run over-the-road routes across multiple states. You'll handle freight loading, hazmat shipments, and paperwork while keeping everything compliant with DOT and FMCSA rules.
What you'll do
- Drive flatbed equipment on OTR routes spanning several states
- Plan and adjust routes using GPS to keep deliveries on time
- Load and unload cargo by hand, following proper safety practices
- Haul hazardous materials in line with DOT requirements
- Keep accurate records of hours, cargo, and deliveries per FMCSA rules
- Check your truck before and after each trip and flag any problems
- Stay in touch with dispatch about schedules, routes, and delays
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean record; must pass a background check and physical
- Solid background in commercial driving, including delivery and route work
- Comfortable loading and unloading flatbed freight
- Able to use GPS for navigation and route changes
- Confident operating a manual transmission
- Working knowledge of FMCSA and DOT safety standards
- Experience with cargo handling and general transportation logistics
- Strong, safe manual handling skills
- Solid driving record with a focus on safety and customer service
