About this job
Our company is hiring solo CDL-A drivers for a dedicated OTR dry van account based in Gary, IN. New drivers with no trucking experience are welcome to apply.
Pay
- Posted pay is $1,154–$1,773 per week; the company says the OTR pay package typically averages $1,000–$1,700 weekly.
- Your pay is guaranteed for 3 months starting from your first solo dispatch.
- You earn $15 for each stop other than the first and the last.
- A Swift Driver Performance Bonus is available.
Routes and freight
- Expect roughly 1,900–2,500 miles each week.
- Lanes run from Indiana and Illinois down to the Southeast, all within the Eastern US. There are no Western states, no Rockies and no NYC runs.
- Freight is dry van: live load/live unload, preloaded trailers and drop & hook.
- The account is out of Gary, IN, and covers IL and IN within 100 miles.
Schedule and home time
- You are home every two weeks.
- Day and night shifts are both offered.
- Working weekends is your choice.
- Holiday time at home can be planned in advance.
Requirements
- A valid Class A CDL; no special endorsements needed.
- No prior experience necessary.
- You must be comfortable with live loading and unloading.
