OTR Box Truck Driver — $800–$1,000/Week

Drive a 26 foot box truck on over-the-road routes, moving freight across long distances while staying compliant with FMCSA and DOT rules. You'll handle loading, route planning, inspections and paperwork as part of the job.

What you'll haul

• Freight moved in a 26 foot box truck on OTR routes

• Some loads may include hazardous materials, so familiarity with dangerous goods handling matters

What the job involves

• Operating the truck safely on long-distance routes while following FMCSA and DOT rules

• Loading and unloading cargo by hand or with equipment like forklifts, securing it properly

• Mapping routes with GPS to hit delivery windows while watching fuel use and safety

• Checking the truck and trailer before and after each trip for mechanical issues or safety concerns

• Keeping accurate hours-of-service logs, delivery paperwork and inspection records

• Staying in touch with dispatch to coordinate deliveries and flag any delays or problems

Requirements

• Solid background driving commercial trucks on OTR routes

• Comfortable loading and unloading freight, including knowledge of hazmat handling rules

• Experience operating a 26 foot box truck

• Strong GPS navigation skills for planning long-haul routes

• Working knowledge of FMCSA rules covering hours of service, vehicle checks and load securement

• A safe driving history; prior delivery driving experience is a plus
