Local Truck Driver — WI–IL Runs, Guaranteed 4 Days/Week

Our company needs a driver for local runs between Wisconsin and Illinois. This is a contracted position, paid on a 1099 at year-end, mostly in tractor-trailers with occasional dump truck work.

Pay

• $24.00 - $27.00 per hour

• Contracted role, 1099 issued at tax time

Schedule

• Guaranteed 4 days per week

• Friday work is likely on top of that

What you'll haul

• Freight and materials in tractor-trailers, with occasional dump truck runs

• Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers or dump trucks is a plus

• Loading and unloading is infrequent, sometimes done by hand and sometimes with equipment like forklifts

Requirements

• At least one year of recent commercial driving experience

• Comfortable with manual transmission trucks

• Knows how to use GPS for route planning

• Understands FMCSA and DOT rules, including hours-of-service limits

• Familiarity with hazardous materials handling is a plus

• Basic mechanical knowledge of commercial vehicles

• Able to communicate with dispatch and customers to keep deliveries on track

• Responsible for pre-trip and routine vehicle inspections, reporting mechanical problems right away
