About this job
Our company is hiring a DZ driver for local pickup and delivery work in Owen Sound and the surrounding area. This is a daytime, Monday to Friday, full-time permanent role with a federally regulated LTL/FTL carrier.
Pay
- From $45,000 per year
- Described as a competitive hourly wage
Home time
- Daytime shift, starting 7:30 AM, Monday to Friday
What you'll haul
- LTL freight on local pickup and delivery routes
Requirements
- Valid DZ licence with a clean driver's abstract
- At least 3 years of commercial driving experience
- Good knowledge of Ontario roads and the local area
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and help handle freight
- ELD and load securement experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Run daily local pickups and deliveries on time
- Do pre-trip and post-trip inspections using the ELD/Samsara system
- Secure and handle freight, including LTL shipments
- Keep dispatch updated on delays or issues
- Fill out paperwork accurately (BOLs, manifests, DG docs where needed)
- Follow company safety policies and federal rules
- Represent the company professionally at customer stops
