Local Delivery Driver — GTA Routes, From $20.00/hr

Our company is looking for a delivery driver to handle pickups and drop-offs around the Greater Toronto Area, with occasional longer runs. You'll drive a 5 ton truck (26 feet or less), load and unload freight, and work directly with customers at their locations.

Pay

• Starting from $20.00 per hour

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, starting between 7:00AM and 9:00AM, with finish time depending on your route

• Expect overtime while you're learning the job

• You'll need to be open to extra hours and weekend work when it comes up

What you'll haul

• Deliveries loaded by hand into a cargo van or by skids into straight trucks

• Hand-unloading and sorting at customer sites, using a hydraulic hand pallet truck where needed

• Routes cover the GTA, plus longer trips out to places like Kingston, Barrie, Kitchener, St. Catharines, Guelph and Hamilton

What the job involves

• Confirming each delivery at the customer's location and uploading a photo through the courier app

• Bringing back any returned or undelivered items to the warehouse staging area and logging them in the app

• Checking the vehicle before each shift and keeping daily logs

• Refueling the vehicle at the end of the day and keeping it clean

• Building good working relationships with the customers you deliver to

Requirements

• At least 1 year driving a commercial vehicle

• Valid G class license held for 3 years, with a clean driving record

• Comfortable driving in all kinds of weather and road conditions

• Able to repeatedly lift, carry and stack items up to 50 lbs

• Willing to use your own data plan for GPS navigation

• Reliable attendance and a solid work history

• Good communication skills, attention to detail and strong organizational habits

• 5 years of driving experience required; 3 years as a delivery driver and 4 years of driving overall are preferred
