About this job
This local CDL-B job has you running a 28-foot flatbed Peterbilt stake body (automatic transmission) out of Sulphur, LA, hauling pipe, fittings and other general materials to job sites within a couple hours' drive.
Pay
- $24 per hour
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm, with an unpaid half-hour lunch
- Expect two to three runs a day, each with several stops
What you'll haul
- Pipe, fittings and general construction materials on a flatbed trailer
- Most of your day is behind the wheel, with some time loading and unloading at the warehouse
What you'll do
- Get loads to customers on schedule and confirm directions before heading out
- Help load and unload material, making sure it's secured and within weight limits
- Snap photos after each delivery using a handheld device
- Collect signed delivery tickets and match customer returns to the paperwork
- Run daily pre-trip and post-trip checks and keep your supervisor posted through the day
- Keep the truck fueled and report any mechanical issues or incidents right away
Requirements
- CDL-B license
- At least one year of flatbed driving experience
- Clean driving record and compliance with DOT rules
