About this job
Our company is looking for a Class A CDL driver to run local solo routes out of Braintree, MA, with home time every day. You'll haul palletized freight on dry van trailers between Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island and New Hampshire.
Pay
- $36.00 per hour, paid weekly, with typical weekly earnings of $1980 or more
- Expect 50+ hours per week
- Sign-on bonus of $1500 at 30 days and another $1500 at 90 days
- Referral bonus up to $1500 for each driver you refer who gets hired
Schedule
- Local routes with daily home time
- Start times between 4:00 AM and 10:00 AM
- Weekend work during peak season, with 2 consecutive days off
What you'll haul
- Solo routes delivering palletized freight
- Day cab tractors paired with 28', 48' or 53' dry van trailers
- Trucks are 36 months old or newer, backed by 24/7 roadside help and fueling at more than 800 maintenance locations nationwide
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid Class A CDL with the right endorsements for this route
- Verifiable tractor-trailer experience: 9 months in the last 3 years, OR 2 years in the last 5 years, OR 5 years in the last 10 years
- Must pass a DOT physical, road test, background check and drug screening, including verification of drug and alcohol history with past employers over the last 3 years
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions and apply relevant laws, rules and procedures
- Some assignments may require added screening such as employment or education checks, driving record review, or customer-specific badging
Responsibilities
- Follow all applicable federal and state regulations and company safety standards
- Spot and address safety risks on the job
- Keep accurate delivery records and logs
- Help load or unload freight when the customer requires it
- Take on other duties as assigned
