About this job
Our company is looking for a local Class A CDL driver in Elkhart, IN. You'll run a Monday through Friday schedule with a 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM shift, and you'll be home every day.
Pay
- $29.00 per hour, plus overtime after 40 hours
- Paid weekly
- Paid training
- Loyalty bonus of $4000 total: $2K at 6 months and $2K at 1 year
Schedule and home time
- Local route, home daily
- Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM shift
What you'll haul
- Yard trucks and day cabs
- Dry van and flatbed trailers
- Flatbed loads may need strapping for load securement, as needed
- Trucks are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside support and fueling at more than 800 maintenance locations nationwide
Requirements
- At least 21 years old
- Valid Class A CDL with the right endorsements for this role
- Verifiable tractor-trailer experience: 9 months in the last 3 years, OR 2 years in the last 5 years, OR 5 years in the last 10 years
- Must pass a our company drug test, background check, motor vehicle record check, DOT physical and road test, including drug and alcohol history verification from past employers covering the last 3 years
- Able to follow instructions and apply relevant laws, rules and procedures
- Some assignments may require extra screening, such as employment or education checks, driving record review, a road test, or customer-specific badge or background requirements
Responsibilities
- Follow applicable federal and state laws and regulations
- Spot and reduce safety hazards
- Keep accurate logs and records
- Load or unload freight when the customer requires it
- Other duties as assigned
