Local CDL-A Tanker Driver — Home Most Nights, $90K–$105K/Year

Our company is hiring a local CDL-A driver in West Harrison, IN to haul dry bulk freight using pneumatic trailers. This role involves more hands-on work than typical trucking jobs, since you'll also load and unload using the pneumatic system and work directly with customers. No pneumatic experience is needed, as full training is provided.

Home time

Most routes keep you home nightly. Drivers here currently average just one night away from home per month, and when an overnight stay is needed, our company covers your hotel and gives you a per diem. Expect to work roughly every other weekend.

Pay

Drivers at this location and in Cincinnati are currently earning between $90,000 and $105,000 per year. New drivers in West Harrison also get a $3,000 sign-on bonus, and recruiters can tell you more about an additional weekly safety bonus.

What you'll haul

You'll run dry bulk loads using pneumatic trailers. About a third of your shift involves loading, unloading and working with customers, with the remainder spent driving.

Requirements

• Minimum age 23 for interstate commercial driving

• Valid Class A CDL with at least 1 year of tractor-trailer experience

• Driving experience within the last 10 years, ideally within the last 5

• Military driving experience accepted

• Able to read and speak English well enough to communicate with the public, understand road signs, respond to official requests and complete reports

• Must meet FMCSA physical and medical qualification standards, including a valid medical certificate

• Must not be disqualified from commercial driving under FMCSA rules

• CDL must be valid in your state of residence, or you must be able to transfer it within 30 days of relocating

• Hazmat endorsement needed at some locations; tank endorsement not required for dry bulk work

• No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years

• No speeding violations of 15+ mph over the limit in the past 3 years

• No careless or reckless driving convictions in the past 3 years

• No unsafe lane change violations in the past 3 years

• No distracted driving or handheld device violations in the past year

• No alcohol- or drug-related violations in the past 10 years

• No preventable head-on, rollover, rear-end, jackknife or side-impact accidents in the past 3 years

• At most 1 preventable road accident in the past 3 years (or 1 road accident plus 1 off-road accident), and no more than 2 preventable off-road accidents in that time

• No safety-related license suspensions, or suspensions tied to a prior citation, in the past 10 years

• No more than 1 administrative suspension in the past 3 years, or 2 in the past 5 years
