About this job
Our company is looking for a solo CDL-A flatbed driver to run local routes out of Malakoff, TX, getting you home every day. You'll haul brick and building materials on a day cab flatbed, handling load securement with strapping (no tarping required).
Pay
- Paid weekly, averaging $1,500 per week
- Solo mile rate: $0.665 per mile
- Solo stop pay: $21.79 per stop
- Typical workweek runs 50+ hours
- Bonus potential up to $2,200 per year, increasing at the 2-year mark
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, with occasional overnight work
- Dispatch starts between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM
- You're home daily
What you'll haul
- Solo routes within Texas
- Flatbed trailer with a truck-mounted forklift
- Freight is touch freight (brick and building materials), secured with strapping only, no tarp
- Day cab tractor, manual transmission required
- At least 6 months of flatbed experience needed
Requirements
- Must be 21 or older
- Valid Class A CDL with the right endorsements
- Qualifying tractor-trailer experience: 9 months in the last 3 years, OR 2 years in the last 5 years, OR 5 years in the last 10 years
- Must pass our company's drug test, background check, motor vehicle record review, DOT physical and road test
- Previous employer drug and alcohol verification covering the last 3 years
- Able to follow instructions and apply relevant laws, rules and procedures
- Some assignments may require added screening, such as employment/education checks or customer-specific badging
What you'll do
- Follow applicable federal, state and company safety rules
- Spot and address safety hazards
- Keep accurate logs and records
- Help load or unload freight when the customer requires it
- Take on other assigned tasks as needed
