About this job
Franklin Logistics, a family-owned 3PL and industrial developer based in Chambersburg, PA, is looking for a solo Class A flatbed driver for local runs. You'll run Monday through Friday and be home every night, hauling no-touch freight with no tarping required.
Pay
- Hourly position, paid weekly, with typical earnings of $1,400-$1,600 based on your hours
- Overtime pay kicks in after 40 hours worked
- Expect to work 50-60 hours per week
Home time
- Home every night, Monday through Friday
What you'll haul
- Flatbed freight moved between warehouses, distribution centers, customers, and vendor locations
- Loads are loaded, secured, and tarped by warehouse staff; you'll inspect them before departure and strap them down if needed
- No-touch freight and no tarping duties for you
What the job involves
- Running pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections on your tractor and trailer
- Following DOT, FMCSA, and all company safety rules while on the road
- Checking shipping paperwork and delivery documents for accuracy
- Sticking to assigned routes and schedules for on-time pickups and drop-offs
- Keeping ELD logs, inspection reports, and mileage records up to date
- Staying in touch with dispatch on progress, delays, and any issues
- Reporting accidents, equipment problems, or safety concerns right away
- Coupling and uncoupling trailers and inspecting them before hauling
- Keeping your equipment clean and road-ready
- Following Hours of Service rules at all times
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Comfortable driving in a range of weather and traffic conditions
- Careful with safety, paperwork, and time management
- Able to perform vehicle inspections and hook/unhook trailers
- ELD experience preferred
- Chaining experience preferred
- Familiarity with FMCSA, DOT, and Hours of Service rules preferred
