About this job
Our company is hiring an experienced local CDL-A driver for a Monday through Friday, second-shift route in the Elk Grove Village, IL area. You'll be home every night with weekends off, earning $28 an hour.
Pay
- $28 an hour
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday through Friday, second shift, starting at 3:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m.
- Typical shifts run 9 to 10 hours
- Home every night, no weekend work
- First week of training is paid and based at the Crystal Lake terminal
What you'll haul
- Local pickup and delivery freight for a company that has handled LTL, FTL, warehousing, distribution and brokerage work since 1971
What you'll do
- Drive a tractor-trailer safely under DOT rules
- Handle local pickups and deliveries with professional service
- Load, unload and secure freight as needed
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and keep accurate records
- Stay in communication with dispatch, customers and teammates
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with at least two years behind the wheel
- Pickup-and-delivery background preferred
- Minimum age 21
- Hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred, and required within three months of hire
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong safety record, dependable habits and clear communication
- Able to pass a drug screen, DOT physical, functional employment physical, and join random testing
