Local CDL-A Driver — Manual Transmission, Starting $20.00/hr

Our company, a regional hunger-relief nonprofit serving 26 counties, needs a CDL-A driver based out of its Valdosta facility. You'll run a 10-speed manual tractor and mobile pantry unit, picking up and delivering food donations across the service area.

What you'll do

• Drive a 10-speed manual transmission tractor and mobile pantry truck

• Complete required pre-trip, post-trip and weekly vehicle inspections

• Load and unload orders, pallets and materials for your route

• Follow donor pick-up rules and partner agency delivery requirements

• Count and verify product at pick-up and delivery, and handle receipts and signatures

• Return pallets, racks and containers promptly

• Unload, recount, weigh and store product at the warehouse

• Keep perishable loads at proper temperature during transport

• Check fuel, fluids and safety items daily and keep vehicles in good running order

• Build good working relationships with donors and partner agency staff

• Follow company phone-use rules and Georgia's handsfree law

• Report vehicle, equipment, donor, vendor or personnel issues to the Branch Manager, Director of Inventory or Safety Department

• Help with special projects for the COO, Director of Inventory Services and Branch Ops Manager as needed

• Report to the Branch Operations Manager

Requirements

• CDL-A license with no transmission restriction

• Cleared to operate manual transmission

• 3 years of experience driving as a CDL-A driver

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Initiative, ability to handle pressure; ServSafe certification and food industry experience are a plus

Pay

Starting pay is $20.00 per hour, with actual rate based on your relevant experience.
