About this job
Our company in Lawrenceville, GA is looking for a local CDL-A driver to run tractor-trailer freight on set routes. New CDL holders are welcome and will be trained, and you can take the truck home after your shift. This is a 1099 position.
Pay
- Starts from $1,450.00 per week
- Extra pay if you help load or unload freight
What you'll do
- Drive tractor-trailers on assigned local routes and keep to the delivery schedule
- Load and unload freight when needed (touching freight is rare but possible)
- Do pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks
- Keep records of mileage, fuel use and any incidents
- Stay in contact with dispatch about delays or problems on the road
- Follow all driving and freight-handling safety rules
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A with a clean driving record
- New drivers are welcome; prior route or freight-hauling experience is a plus
- Experience with dump trucks, tractor-trailers or forklifts is helpful but not required
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and handle physical loading/unloading tasks
- Good time management, able to work solo or with a team
- Solid communication skills for working with dispatch and clients
