About this job
Our company is looking for a solo Class A CDL driver to run local routes out of Bowling Green, KY, hauling no-touch auto parts freight in a 53' dry van on a day cab. You'll be home every day.
Pay
- Base rate of $0.49 per mile, with an expected 2,500 miles per week
- Additional $12.50 per stop (about 5 stops weekly) and $6.25 per drop and hook
- Paid weekly, with typical total earnings cited at $1,255 or more per week
- $2,000 shutdown bonus paid during your first year
- Sign-on bonus of $1,000 at 30 days and another $1,000 at 90 days
- Quarterly safety bonus of $250, when applicable
Home time
- Local routes between Kentucky and Tennessee, home every day
- Schedule runs Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday
- You'll need flexibility for both morning and evening start times
- Expect PM shifts for your first two years, with 11 hours of daily drive time
What you'll haul
- No-touch auto parts freight in 53-foot dry vans
- Equipment is well maintained, 36 months old or newer, backed by 24/7 roadside assistance and a large network of maintenance locations
Requirements
- At least 21 years old
- Valid Class A CDL with the right endorsements
- Verifiable tractor-trailer experience: 9 months in the last 3 years, 2 years in the last 5, or 5 years in the last 10
- Able to pass a drug screen, background and motor vehicle check, and DOT physical
- Able to pass a our company road test
- Solid trailer backing skills
- Able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, laws and procedures
Responsibilities
- Stay compliant with applicable transportation laws and company policies
- Spot and reduce safety risks on the job
- Keep accurate logs and paperwork
- Help load or unload freight when a customer requires it
