About this job
Our company is hiring local Class A CDL drivers to run assigned delivery routes out of Canton, TX. You will drive a tractor-trailer and hand-unload food and supplies at customer sites, getting to know each customer along the way.
What you'll haul
- Meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods and supplies
- Freight is touch freight: expect to move product by hand, typically 40-60 lbs and up to 100 lbs, over and over
Home time and schedule
- Most driver trainees have daily routes and are home nightly
- Overtime, weekends and holidays may be needed depending on business demand
Requirements
- Age 21 or older
- Valid Class A CDL and a driving record that meets the company's insurability standards
- Pass employment testing
- Enough English to talk with the public, read road signs, answer official questions and fill out reports
- Nice to have: 1 year of customer delivery work, 6 months with a hand cart or hand truck, 6 months in food and beverage, and 2 years of steady work history
