Local CDL-A Delivery Driver — $32.80/hr

Deliver food products to customers in the Houston, TX area for US Foods. Shifts start early morning and run Monday through Friday until the route is finished.

Pay

• $32.80 per hour (base rate for this role ranges from $30.00 to $32.80 per hour depending on experience, skills and location)

• Overtime pay may also apply

Schedule

• Monday through Friday

• Start time between 2:00am and 5:00am, working until the route is complete

What you'll do

• Drive safely to customer locations and arrive within scheduled delivery windows

• Unload goods using a hand truck, pallet jack or by hand, and place them where the customer wants them

• Confirm each delivery is correct with the customer and get the required signature

• Collect payments from customers when needed

• Provide friendly, professional service to customers

• Complete inspections of your equipment before and after each trip

Physical demands

• Repeatedly lift, carry, push and pull product weighing 20 to 80+ lbs throughout your shift

• Work outdoors in all weather, with 10 or more stops per shift

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A from your state of residence, with required endorsements and DOT qualifications

• Registered with the FMCSA Clearinghouse (required by the Department of Transportation; register at clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov)

• At least 21 years old

• At least six months of commercial driving experience in any industry, or three months in food or beverage delivery

• Comfortable driving a manual transmission preferred, and may be required at some locations

• Able to read and speak English well enough to understand road signs, respond to official requests, and fill out reports
