About this job
Our company in Indianapolis, IN needs a local truck driver to haul materials and goods between sites. You'll be home every day, no over-the-road routes, though occasional nights and weekends on call may come up, and you may pitch in on non-driving tasks when needed.
What you'll do
- Pick up and deliver materials and goods between locations
- Choose safe, efficient travel routes and stay on schedule
- Carry out basic safety checks and preventative maintenance on your truck
- Keep accurate logs of work hours, rest periods and fuel costs
- Follow all company rules and driving regulations
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL), Class A or B
- Prior truck driving experience preferred
- Trucking school certificate a plus
- Comfortable with GPS, CB radios and AVL tracking tools
- Solid knowledge of trucking laws and regulations
- Clean driving record
- Must pass a background check and drug test
- Willing to travel and drive long distances as needed
- Rolloff experience preferred; dump truck experience strongly preferred
