About this job
Our company in Fremont, IN is looking for a backup Class A CDL driver to split time between warehouse duties and covering truck routes when regular drivers are out sick or on vacation.
Pay
- Starting at $315.00 per day
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, no weekends
- Dock hours typically 9am to 3pm
- On-call for route coverage, with start times varying by route
- Paid holidays off
What you'll do
- Spend most days on dock work, operating a forklift and handling freight up to 75 lbs
- Step in as a backup driver to cover vacations and sick leave
- Run pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Keep accurate logs of deliveries and driving
- Follow all traffic laws and safety rules on the road
- Use a forklift to unload the truck after a route
Requirements
- Class A CDL with 2 years of recent, verifiable driving experience
- 5 years of recent, verifiable forklift experience
- Clean driving record, steady work history and good attendance
- Valid DOT medical card
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Company-owned truck provided
